CASE STUDY: LIGHT CLOUD
Installed as the centerpiece installation for a black tie event at a Napa Valley winery, the Light Cloud is made of 5000lbs of steel, glass, and technology, made luminescent and paintable with a digital brush.
The cloud is controlled by tablets in the crowd, where visitors can dip their finger in digital paint and color the cloud in real time. The Light Cloud seamlessly explores the point where modern technology and physical objects touch.
The Light Cloud was inspired by a project from Canadian sculptors, Caitlind r.c. Brown & Wayne Garrett, and uses art as open-source — where artists build upon one another’s successes, and leverage new technology in magical ways.
